Capt. Dave Carraro

Capt. Dave Carraro is the captain of FV-Tuna.com on NatGeo’s smash hit show Wicked Tuna. Dave holds a U.S.C.G 100-ton Master License and has an invaluable 32 years of experience with Gloucester Fishing Charters. He began fishing with his dad as a kid and has fished almost every day for the past 33 years!

Appearances will be:
Friday 1pm-3pm and 4-6pm
Saturday 11am-1pm and 3pm-5pm
Sunday 12pm-2pm

The Savannah Fishing Expo, held Saturday and Sunday during the boat show, will feature fishing seminars from some of the top fishing experts in the country!

Capt. Brian has been a inshore and offshore professional guide for over 15 years.  He will speak teach you out to catch cobia!

Capt. Jack McGowan with Coastal River Charters

“An Intro to Inshore Fishing on the Georgia Coast”

Capt. Jack is  one of the most active, well known, and respected fishing guides on the Georgia coast.  Jack owns and operates Coastal River Charters out of Savannah, Georgia.   He is a frequent speaker for fishing clubs, expos, sporting good retailers, and marinas.   Jack is a lifetime member of Coastal Conservation Association and has lent support on fishery issues.  On his website www.coastalrivercharters.com Jack posts fishing reports as well as bi-weekly radio reports.  As another charter company said, “ when Jack speaks, we listen”.  His seminar should be fun for the experienced fisherman, as well as those new to the sport.

Capt Matt Starling with Custom Marine

“Bulls and Reds in 60 to 70 degree water temp and Tarpon fishing from June to October”

Capt Matt has been charter fishing out of Savannah for 30 yrs. He fishes year round and specializes in catching your trophy fish of a lifetime.  Big Jacks, Bulls, Reds, Tarpon, Tripletail, Trout and Sheepshead.  He has released 7 Tarpon in past years well over the state record ranging from 185 to 226 lbs. From dead bait fishing, live bait to jigs Capt Matt will cover the bite.

Trey Leggett

“Kayak Fishing in the Lowcountry”  An introduction into kayak fishing in the low country regarding safety, targeted species, tackle, and baits.

Trey has been fishing lakes and inshore saltwater from South Texas to North Carolina.  In 2006, he was introduced into kayak fishing and has found the solidarity among kayak fishermen and the connection with being a more deliberate fisherman.  He has fished in numerous kayak fishing tournaments along the Atlantic Coast and conducted many seminars about kayak fishing and fishing in general.  Trey is supported by South East Adventure Outfitters, Hobie Kayaks, and Hobie Polarized Sunglasses as well as a writer of the Ebb & Flow Column in Southern Tide Magazine.

Bucky & Barry

Bucky & Barry have been called by The Savannah Morning News as a “ Savannah Institution”.  They have been entertaining locals and tourists alike for over 30 years with their brand of southern humor and charm. Recently voted as Savannah’s #1 band by Savannah Magazine, they continue to delight crowds everywhere from Princeton University, down to Key West and everywhere in between. Playing hits from Jimmy Buffet and James Taylor, to James Brown and Lynard Skynard, they can entertain young and old alike.

Chuck Courtenay Band

The Chuck Courtenay Band is quickly becoming one of Savannah and the Southeast’s best Country Bands. The lead man, Chuck Courtenay has been in the spotlight for many years as half of the popular “Courtenay Brothers Band”, and now has a front and center approach to playing hits that everyone knows and loves as well as his originals. They play songs from the late greats such as Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash as well as today’s leading country chart toppers. They are a well-known local cover band that has no limits, and are currently one of Savannah’s favorites.

In addition to competing for its 9th World Title, Miss GEICO participates in 20 National Boat Shows, 3 National Air Shows competing against the GEICO Skytypers, 4 National Poker Runs in the GEICO Caveman boat, 4 Nationally televised P-1 Powerboat Races, 10 AquaX jet ski races, and numerous charitable events assisting United We Race, Inc. our own 501 (c) (3) charity that distributes 100% of the proceeds to United States Veterans.   The Miss GEICO Offshore Race Team is hard at work and hungry to claim its 9th World Title against a long list of teams from Qatar, Norway, Australia, and the United States.”

The Coastal Kids Zone is located “Lower end of Main Lobby in River Concourse”. 

Mermaid Kelly

Mermaid Kelly is a Professional Mermaid who swam all the way from Florida. She will be having a Meet & Greet and a Photo Op both Saturday and Sunday all day. She loves to swim and she loves visiting humans on the land.  Her goal is to bring a smile to everyone and she can’t wait to meet you!

The Plundering Pirates of Paradise

The Plundering Pirates of Paradise present Histories & Mysteries

A delightful show for all ages that will deliver history in a humorous, but accurate fashion; debunking common urban legends, yet revealing how the secret world of piracy was conducted. History told, mysteries solved, but a few things are still to unfold. Will you help us find the truth? Or will you be the one trying to stop that truth from coming out? So many players & so many parts,  but with your (the crowds’) help, we shall discover the greatest mystery of pirating.
